Advantages of Jig Recovery Systems

  • Increased Gold Recovery—Jigs have improved placer gold recovery by 5% to 40% where they have been installed in existing operations. Most of this recovery has been in the 100-270 mesh size range.

  • Increased Production Time—The Jig is self cleaning and produces a continuous concentrate. Production shutdowns for clean up are not required.

  • Immediate Feedback of Production Results—Jig concentrates are discharged instantly for economic monitoring and analysis.

  • Low Water Requirements—The Jig can operate with less water than other recovery systems. It can operate effectively with pulp densities up to 40% solids by weight. By comparison, a sluice/riffle system works best in the 10% solids range.

  • Jigs are Versatile—Jigs are used in placer and hard rock mining operations to recover golds, platinum, tin diamonds, and other heavy minerals.

  • Low Maintenance & Operating Cost—With few moving parts, the Jig is extremely reliable and requires a minimal amount of maintenance.

Jigs are highly recommended by many operators because they provide superior gold recovery in situations where fine golds or black sands are present in significant quantities. Jigs also permit secure, continuous clean-up of concentrates. Goldfield Engineering manufactures Duplex Jigs in 30" and 42" models. Variable speed gear motors are optional.
